I believe in listening to your hair, by doing so you have the ability to give your hair exactly what it needs at the time versus following the same regimen without modifications. I do have a basic regimen though and I add on as needed.
Here is my basic regimen:
Pre-poo with a mix of coconut oil and a leave-in conditioner for at least 15 minutes
Shampoo hair once a week, my wash days are usually on the weekend so I have time to pamper my hair
Deep condition hair weekly(rotating between protein/keratin, cholesterol and botanical conditioners)
Apply the L.O.C method after washing hair
Moisturize hair daily with hair milk
Lightly oil scalp and edges as needed
Then with every change of season I have some slight adjustments.
In the Fall/Winter I add on:
-Monthly hot oil treatments
-I reseal the moisture in my hair using the L.O.C method, the ‘C’ being a heavy hair butter, I do this every 2-3 days
-I still wash my hair weekly but instead alternate between shampooing one week and co-washing the next
-I oil my edges and ends daily, edges can get snatched by fall/winter hats and scarves and the ends of the hair are exposed to harsh cold air. The oil will help protect the hair.
In the Spring/Summer I add on:
-I shampoo weekly and co-wash midweek to keep my hair fresh from sweaty days and humid air
-I keep a light coating of oil on my hair as a barrier to prevent sun damage and to keep my hair from absorbing too much water on humid days
