The weather is getting cooler, boots, hats and ponchos are coming out, and we’re thinking about protective styles. If you’re subscribed to our newsletter or joined us for the protective style challenge last year, we shared various types of protective style options. The weather change also brings a slight modification to my hair regimen. I use less gels and curling creams and start using thicker conditioners, oils and hair butters for the L.O.C. method.
The L.O.C. (Leave-in, Oil, and Cream) method is a term created by Alikay Naturals CEO Rochelle Campbell. If you have trouble with your natural hair retaining moisture, try it out. Some people modify the process and use the oil as the last step, but part of the natural hair journey is always doing what works for you. In an earlier post, Kat goes into detail sharing the products that work best on her 4c hair using the L.O.C. method.
Over the summer, I won a Cocotique Box on a Twitter chat featuring full sized Lottabody products. I’ve always wanted to try these products and I’m glad I did. They smell amazing and worked really well on my 4a hair. The box contained the following items:
Lottabody Love Me 5 in 1 Miracle Styling Creme
I used the Lottabody 5 in 1 Miracle Styling Creme as a Leave-in to detangle my hair since I styled on an old twist-out. Natural hair tends to get dry easily so it’s always best practice to apply water or a leave-in on your hair before manipulating to add moisture. This also helps prevent hair breakage.
Here are the uses for the Lottabody 5 in 1 Miracle Styling creme
- Detangle and Condition
- Be a Heat Protectant
- Add Moisture and Shine
- Prevent Split Ends
- Tame Frizz
Lottabody STYLE ME Texturizing Setting Lotion
I used the Lottabody STYLE ME Texturizing Setting Lotion as the Oil to seal in the moisture obtained from the styling creme. The product comes ready to use with no need to mix, you can use it to set your curls for rollers, perm rods or any other type of hair stretching, and it gives hair a shiny finish.
Lottabody Moisturize Me Curl and Style Milk
The last item I used as the Cream was the Lottabody Moisturize Me Curl and Style Milk. This product added more shine to my strands and made it really soft. I finished styling my hair in two strand twists. In this video, I share how I do the L.O.C. method on an old twist out, turned bun using the Lottabody products mentioned.
